11 family meals

Feeling a bit flat today so I've set myself a bit of a cooking challenge.(You can follow me on twitter if you like username - motheronboard).
I have a number of close friends who are really brilliant, down to earth, gorgeous and internationally famous cooks on telly and all sorts. I'm quite glamorous by association. They come to my house all the time, and sit around, drink wine, talk food and inspire me. I take their ideas and largely hash them into unrepeatable table events but it helps me get through the - Oh God, another meal already? 4pm question. Their names are Sophie, Annabel and Nigella and I'm just getting to know this cool woman Jo.
To be honest it's a slightly one-way type of friendship, I mean, I havent been round to any of their places for like, well, never. I'm ok with it though.

Now Sophie told me once that the average family has 11 meals on their regular rota - the fall backs, the easy and known to be eaten by young children. So I'm going to cook my 11 meals over the next two weeks and tweet them. Then i might try and find the best 11 my girls recommend. If i dont have time to blog, I'll just tweet what we're having for dinner.

As I said, I'm feeling abit flat, but all my comfort foods, and some girlee giggling over a glass of wine - I'm hoping - might help.

Hi Cuz, I love your blog, been viewing for a couple years. Some day you might want to try this recipe...the story goes this woman was riding a bus and heard these two old ladies in front of her talking about a way to make chicken, thus the name of the dish is:

CHICKEN OLD LADIES ON A BUS

1/3 Cup Orange Marmalade
1/3 Cup Hot Barbecue Sauce
2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
2 pounds chicken parts
Salt & pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine marmalade and barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice, mixing well. Place chicken, skin-side up in a 9/13 pan lined with aluminum foil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Pour sauce over chicken and bake 1 hour, basting occasionally. Increase heat to 400 degrees and bake 15 minutes longer.

This can then be served on a bed of rice, or however you may want to do it, along with some veggies.
Do your ovens use fahrenheit temperatures? If not, you will have to adjust.
Keep up the good work!!

PS, I first met your dad in 1957!!

oops, I also forgot your pans are probably not in inches, so 9/13 would be about a 1/4 meter by 1/3 meter pan.
